The Final Blog - Perranporth Beach Mission 2014

So this is the final blog for this year's Beach Mission. We finished over a week ago but I wanted to wait for things to settle before I wrote the final blog for your prayers. We have so much to be thankful for: -a faithful, servant hearted team -amazing family celebration on the Friday evening -a wonderful shared tea and cake up at the school -a fast and effective pack down -for the school - such a great base for the team - for a family who are really close to becoming Christians and who are planning to go the church - for the messy games which was a highlight for many children - the team time praying session for all the children and adults who came to mission - for the age group parties - for all the Bibles given out to children and young people - for two of the team who were baptized yesterday - both came to the mission as children :0) Please thank our heavenly Father who could have done all this without any of our help for the priviledge it was to be part of His plan for Perranporth this year. Thank you for all your prayers while we were on mission and for all those from now on. We are so grateful for your faithfulness to the mission. We are already excited for what God has planned for next year. Here are some prayer points for your future prayers for Perranporth. - that the churches in Perranporth will make good contacts with the families who have attended 360 events - God contiues to work in the lives of those who attended - that the children will continue to search for God - for all the churches in Perranporth - that the team will keep in contact with the children and young people - that the team will not suffer from post-mission blues - that the team will be spiritually upheld after giving out for the Lord's glory - the devil isn't going like it!! Here is a link of a video that one of the team, Emily put together. I hope this too will aid your prayers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-Ek8TOYHdo&feature=share

Sun is shining - the weather is sweet - God is good in everyway

This morning I went to a women's prayer group that the Christian women of Perranporth attend to pray for the village. It is a really powerful-Spirit filled group. God's Spirit was with us and we all went away knowing that there is power in the name of Jesus that can break every chain.

We have had a bought of sore throats and general tiredness amongst the team, so it would be good to pray for re-energising, new enthusiasm and excitement so that those of us who are not feeling under the weather can, through Jesus help to carry those that are. If you have any encouraging verses, please send them to me at admin@perranporth.org.

Yesterday some of us had really good God conversations with some of the locals of Perranporth, some were parents, some were business owners. Please pray God will bless these conversations and that they will come back to us with further questions or attend other events so that we can show them more of God's unconditional love for them.

Tonight is 'Open-Mic Night' at St Michael's Hall. Please pray for a good attendance to this event and that we may be a good witness to Jesus in the conversations we have. May we display Christlikeness to all who look on.

Please also pray of the holidaymakers on the beach who are listening to what's going on on the Inner Green and wondering why people would bother. We have had some opposition on Facebook to the Morning Show, but we are thankful that God is calling these people back to Him and asking them to take notice of His Word. Please may we will be the sweet fragrance of Jesus to all, locals and holidaymakers alike.

Finally we ask God's blessing on all the children's work going on. May the leaders be faithful to God's Word and know that they don't need to add anything or take anything away to make it more attractive to the Young People. There is power in the name of Jesus - end of!

Thank you for your continued prayers - it is a blessing to us all that you are praying for us here in Perranporth, doing God's Mission for His People. Bless you :0)

Week 2 - This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, so that they may worship me."

Hello again - It's week 2 and we had a massive blast of God's love from Matt Timms this morning. He spoke about 2 Timothy 4 and we were given three challenges for the rest of the mission:

1. Fight the good fight
2. Focus on the finish line
3. Keep the faith

This is a challenge for all of us, as we go about our daily lives.

I thought I'd fill this blog with photos to help us all pray through what God has been doing and what He will do. I hope you enjoy them.

The view from Chapel Rock - let's pray for the holiday makers
Please pray for the team as they explain God's Word to the children and have fun while doing it.
Pray there will be a massive harvest after the conversations started at the Skate Comp.
Hopefully I can get a few more pictures in. These are of the afternoon activities and the gazebo. Please pray for these events too. Great conversations with parents and adult have been had a both.

Minis having fun at Sand Sculptures Competition
More fun at sand sculptures
Gazebo

Please continue to pray for James Ellin - mission leader. He's still not back to full health. God is healing him gradually one day at a time. There are a number of team who are feeling borderline unwell. We are hoping God will restore their energy and not allow their sore throats, tiredness get the better of them.

We have twelve new team members this week. May God give them all they need to join in with what's already happened and may they be ready to take the steps of faith required of them this coming week.

The forecast for this week doesn't look good, but we know God has a plan whatever the weather. May the team not be disheartened if it doesn't quite turn out as expected and may we all love God first and follow His leading rather than be dictated too by the weather.

Thank you for your continued prayers - more on Wednesday (if not before). ;0)

Skate Comp - Huge success - Thank you Jesus!!

Psalm 145
I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.[b]
They tell of the power of your awesome works—
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

There is no better way of praising God for his goodness than singing out psalms at the top of your voice. We are in awe of the powerful way God used the Skate Comp yesterday. There are so many fantastic photos on people's phones - here are a few of them:

We are excited that a number of team members have decided to stay for the second week, so we particularly thank God for that. Everyone has been pulling their weight and jumping in to help whenever necessary. We have been particularly impressed with our Junior Team who have in no way been shirking their responsibilities and if anything have been leading the way. God has blessed Perranporth with a great team this year and we are already excited to be having another 12 team members joining us at the weekend.

Please be praying that they will feel welcomed and able to join in with what's been happening already.

Please would you pray for safety and protection for all our Team. God is taking good care of us with only a few mini injuries. May we see this throughout the rest of the two weeks. We don't want to get overtired or burnt out either, so please pray against this.

Our biggest prayer is that the people of Perranporth hear about Jesus and His saving grace, whether this is in the gazebo, the Morning Show, in the children's groups which happen every morning - may we be bold and courageous and remember we are not peddling  a lie but truth, victory and salvation. Praise be to our God who longs for all people to be saved.

Thank you for praying...

It's started Beach Mission 2014

2 Corinthians 1 v 10b-11
On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of the many.

Hello from Perranporth Beach Mission 2014 - thank you to all our friends and families for reading this blog and for praying for this year's beach mission.

GOD HAS MADE A REALLY GOOD START TO THE MISSION THIS YEAR!!

All the team are full of God's love, enthusiasm and encouragement for one another and it is just wonderful to see and witness.

We had the first MORNING SHOW on the Inner Green this morning, with pirates and a storm to boot me hearties. Yes the rain fell out the sky but the children and the leaders were determined to stay out for as long as possible and a wonderful time was had by all.

Encouragements from this morning were the numbers of children that came to all the groups Minis (Yr R-2) 28 children, Minors (Yr 3- Yr 5) 21 and Majors (Yr 6 to Yr 8) 12. Please thank God for all these children and that they will all be back to tomorrow with their friends and families.

Other praise points so far:

United Service at The Memorial Hall

  • The carnival
  • The United Service and the picnic on the Inner Green afterwards
  • Safe arrivals of all the team
  • the team's awesome enthusiasm
  • the prayer walk where we prayed at all the different places 360 will take place this year

Please could you pray for:

  • conversations at the Skate Ramp - this is a big event daily being run and on Wednesday there will be the Mini Skate King competition. Many teenagers and young people are gathering there (photos to follow)
  • another successful Morning Show and group times for Minis, Minors, Majors and Gap
  • the gazebo team - this team is a little thin on the ground at the moment and there could potentially be lots of people around to share in free tea, coffee and free cake!!
  • the PA system - it got a little rained on today - please ask God that it still works tomorrow
Thank you for your prayers - plan is to do another blog day after tomorrow, so keep looking out for updates
